It is designed to assess heart rhythm and heart rate throughout normal daily activities and during sleep, providing insight into heart function over time.<\/p><p>The test is performed by placing small adhesive electrodes on the skin and connecting them to a portable recording device worn by the patient. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The device continuously records the heart\u2019s electrical activity during the monitoring period. Once the recording is completed, the data are reviewed and interpreted by a doctor.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Holter monitoring may help detect intermittent heart rhythm abnormalities that occur sporadically or under specific conditions and might not be identified during a standard ECG. It is therefore commonly used to support the diagnostic evaluation of patients with suspected rhythm disturbances, based on their symptoms, medical history, and clinical findings.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ed975e6 aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a patient has symptoms suggestive of an irregular heartbeat, such as palpitations, dizziness, fainting, shortness of breath, or chest discomfort,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">there is unexplained fainting and a heart rhythm cause needs to be ruled out,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a patient has a known heart condition associated with an increased risk of abnormal heart rhythms,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">there is a need to assess heart rhythm over time, including heart rate changes, pauses, or intermittent abnormalities,<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">monitoring response to treatment or device function (such as a pacemaker) is clinically
