The therapy
Inuspheresis® is a therapy used to remove harmful substances from the blood. These include inflammatory factors, antibodies that have turned against the body’s own tissue, excess blood fats such as cholesterol, and pollutants such as heavy metals, pesticides and microplastics.
This load builds up over time through environmental exposure and stress. For some people it may be part of the reason why symptoms such as persistent fatigue, recurring inflammation or slow recovery do not improve despite treatment.
By filtering the blood, Inuspheresis® removes these substances and returns the rest unchanged: the cells, nutrients and protective antibodies the body needs. Different filters target different groups of substances, and the filter is chosen according to what the therapy aims to reduce.
The aim is not to treat a particular disease, but to relieve the body of what may be weighing on it. Inuspheresis® therefore complements your existing treatment rather than replacing it. In published reports, patients have described changes in areas such as fatigue, mental clarity, physical resilience and inflammatory markers, though the response varies from person to person and cannot be guaranteed.
You sit or lie down comfortably, a needle is placed in a vein of each arm, and you are connected to a monitor that follows your blood pressure, pulse and heart rhythm throughout the session.
For the next two to three hours, blood flows from one arm through the filter and back into the other — continuously, so only a small amount of blood is outside the body at any given moment.
Once the procedure is over, the needles are removed, the puncture sites are dressed, and the doctor checks you over before you leave.

QUALIFICATION
Inuspheresis® is introduced only after a medical assessment. The treating doctor reviews your medical history, current medication and any allergies, and an ECG and blood tests are carried out before the first session. Because the procedure involves blood circulating outside the body, certain conditions may make it unsuitable — which is one reason this assessment is carried out beforehand.
If Inuspheresis® is considered appropriate and no contraindications are present, an individual plan is prepared. It is intended to complement, not replace, other medical care.
frequently asked questions
Both pass blood through a machine, but they do different jobs. Dialysis takes over the work of failing kidneys: it removes waste products and excess fluid from the blood, and it has to be repeated regularly for as long as the kidneys cannot do this themselves. Inuspheresis® is used in people whose kidneys work normally. It separates the plasma and passes it through a filter that removes specific substances, such as inflammatory factors, autoantibodies, excess blood fats or pollutants, before returning the blood to the body. It is a complementary therapy with a different purpose, and it is not a treatment for kidney disease.
Yes. Inuspheresis® is based on a filtration principle that has been used in medicine for more than 20 years. The system itself was developed in Switzerland and is a certified medical device.
No more than a blood test. Two small needles are placed, and the rest of the session is spent sitting or lying still. Mild tiredness afterwards is normal.
Inuspheresis® is generally well tolerated. As with any procedure in which blood circulates outside the body, a temporary drop in blood pressure or dizziness is possible but rare, and precautions are taken to prevent it. Bruising at the puncture sites can occur. Everything is explained in detail before treatment, you remain awake, and a doctor or nurse stays with you the entire time.
Drink plenty of water in the days before, eat normally on the day, and take your usual medication as agreed with the doctor. Afterwards, it is recommended not to drive for 24 hours, avoid sport, sauna and heavy lifting that day, and avoid long flights for 48 hours. You will receive full instructions before your treatment.
